In Memory of Amy Kuneman
Amy Kuneman (born Amy Black) lived a life defined by compassion, determination, and an unwavering love for her family. Born on March 30, 1985, she was the youngest of four siblings and grew up surrounded by love and encouragement. She graduated from Northville High School before earning her bachelor's degree, summa cum laude, from Michigan State University. Amy then received her Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from Duquesne University and went on to become a corporate attorney after passing the Texas Bar Exam. While she achieved great success professionally, those who knew Amy remember her most for her kindness, generosity, and willingness to always help others.
Amy's greatest joy was her family. She and her husband, Chris, met in eighth grade and were married on May 23, 2009. Together they built a loving home and raised four children: Molly, Maggie, Luke, and Logan. Being a mother was Amy's greatest passion, and she devoted herself wholeheartedly to her children. She volunteered in their schools, supported their swim team, and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Amy's love, encouragement, and selflessness touched everyone around her and continue to inspire those who knew her.
Following Amy's unexpected passing from a pulmonary embolism in December 2023, we established The Amy Kuneman Foundation to honor her legacy. Our mission is to raise awareness about blood clots, educate communities on the warning signs and risk factors, and help prevent other families from experiencing the same heartbreaking loss. Every event we host, every educational resource we share, and every life we impact is done in Amy's memory. Her compassion, strength, and love for others continue to guide our work every day.
